“Part of what’s difficult, at least for me, about embarking on these types of self-discovery journeys is judgment. Or fear of judgment at least. From others—those leading, those participating, and those looking in from outside. And of course from myself—that I’ll be too slow, lazy, and incapable of getting the right answers or finishing at all.
But I never feel judgment from Darci. Not just that, but I always feel encouraged, supported, and validated. She’s incredibly dialed into the pulse of our group. She understands that I’m going through this program at my own pace, and she not only refrains from rushing me but genuinely respects my progress. There is no “too slow.” It’s one thing to hear from a leader “there are no wrong answers,” but it’s another thing entirely to feel that sentiment in every bit of communication.
But the amazing thing is that Darci is somehow able to be gentle and supportive without being aloof or disinterested. She gives reminders that feel nothing like nagging and everything like little notes in my lunchbox. I LIKE little notes in my lunchbox. So that’s good.
Maybe the best of all though, is that Darci’s driving motive is for me to Figure. Out. My. Life. She’s juggling a million things, but I never feel like the recipient of a form email. Homework feels deliberate and concentrated: never like babysitting or busywork. She’s actually committed to helping.
I don’t think you need to be floundering and directionless to benefit from working with Darci. I’m further along in knowing my goals, but every stage of this program still feels relevant, fresh, and wise. Whatever she’s charging you is too little. No matter what you’re doing or where you’re going, it’s worth getting Darci’s help.”
